| About Me: | #1: The name Marcus States.Where do i start?? Ive been threw several names throughout my upcoming stages as an artist. Marcus States is the the outcome my growth. Marcus is my birth name and States is the concept that kind of just fell into place.States represents where I'm from. No matter where I'm performing, overseas or across different countries i will always be from the States (Hints: "STATES"). The U.S. is where dreams come true. People leave there Countries, family's and lives behind to come here and give there dreams a shot."The American Dream'' "The Dream of Success". #2: Inspiration??? Both my parents are very musically inclined, so I'm just fortunate and borned into it. Plus i always want to be the center of attention. I love to entertain. This is what I do and I love doing it all day, everyday! The stage, The studio, The industry is where i feel i can be accepted to be myself; an individual....... #3: Everyones has their vision of struggle. For me, I never fell victim down the criminal road. Never been a bad person. Never chose the wrong group of friends. I had more of a personal level of struggle. Like for instance i wasn't the highest achiever in school. There were problems in the household. We didnt have much money to get by, most winters we had no electricity nor food for 1-2 months at a time. Personal hardships definatly makes me unique and gives me the drive to succeed in my career. #4: A day in the studio is very focused. My attitude matches the project im working on. Emotions show in your lyrics and if you feel what your saying then so will the listener. Also i don't eat 5 hours before im scheduled to be in the lab. Food causes you to become drowsy, and being drowsy causes you to be unfocused. Don't get me wrong, a day in the studio with me is a comedy show. I'm very fun to work with and be around. |
