About Me: Gio Star was born Giovanni Martinez to a all Puerto Rican family on December 3, 1989 at Univeristy Of Illinois Hospital. He attended Sabin Elementry and Kelvyn Park High School. He is also the little brother of upcoming rapper artist Outbreak. He began singing and dancing as a little boy. He was really active. As a little boy he would get on the couches and sing "booty call".. (laughs). Gio always was around his big brother because his brother would play interesting artists like Boyz II Men, Brandy, R.kelly, Bone Thugs -N- Harmony etc. He loved music. Through his life he was always continuing his singing. Always asking for something musical for christmas, a karaoke machine, a microphone(with the stand), a piano key board etc. Although family members did not of this talent that Gio was blessed with until the age of around 15 or 16. He always kept it to him self. Yes his family knew he loved to sing, but they never knew it was really serious (laughs). Off the subject of singing a little Gio Star also is a great dancer. He began dancing around the same time of his singing. He was in a latin dance group called "Las Semillitas" in Humboldt Park. He was in the dance group for about 2years then the group had broken up. He still began dancing, but when into more hip-hop dancing. At then around the age of 17 Gio had sang for his high school junior class for a competition they had called "Kelvyn Park Idol". He did not compete, he jus wanted to sing. Then in March of 2007, Gio and 4 of his friends participated in the high school talent show and won 1st place. Right now at the age of 18 Gio Star is on his way of getting his life on track and to becoming a rising "Star".
