Finalist Profile - Stacy B
When watching Stacy B’s video for “Let’s Go,” it is easy to see this is more than your run-of-the-mill pop performer. With a refined understanding of what it takes to make it in the music industry, Stacy, 24, has been working on her craft by singing and performing since she was 3 years old. Dancing along to the beats that rattled the floors of her mother’s apartment, which was located directly above a recording studio, she was constantly surrounded by music, and it made a big impact on her creatively. This early exposure firmly cemented music as Stacy’s calling in life.
Living in a household that was always moving, at times every year, Stacy was always reinventing herself and her surroundings with new friends, classmates and neighbors. “Every person I have ever met has had an impact on me one way or another.” Each of these people has left lasting impressions and have all added a little piece to who she is today. With an edgy pop flair and a dose of rock ’n’ roll on top, she creates jams that make you want to get out on the dance floor and shake your thing. Citing musical idols like Madonna, Beyoncé, Coldplay, T-Pain and Michael Jackson, her creativity and style shines bright with total control and professionalism, and her presence can be felt through the lens, almost as if she were singing personally to you.
When she enters the studio to work on her music after long days of work and school, she does it all and makes magic in the process. Crafting beats, penning music and lyrics, producing her own tracks, as well as coming up with dance routines and editing her videos are all part of a day’s work. With enough skills to keep an entire team busy, it is her focus and drive that make it all come easy to Stacy. This is what makes her special and such a complete talent. With appearances on MTV Jams and at Mall of America in her hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota, as well as opening for R&B legends En Vogue, Stacy B is doing what she loves and is establishing her presence in the scene all at the same time.
This aspiring pop diva is poised and ready for the main stage. With big plans for the future, Stacy mentioned that among the things she would like to accomplish is to be interviewed by Conan O’Brien and branch out her own visions into the fashion and acting worlds. If there is one person who has the drive to make it all happen, it’s Stacy B.
