Finalist Profile - Richard Rick Rose

Don’t be fooled by Richard Rick Rose’s big smile and humble personality—he has a lot going on and is planning to blow your mind. Creating his own style by listening closely to the likes of Stevie Wonder, Brandy, Michael Jackson, Aaron Neville, Chris Brown and J. Moss, Richard, 21, has finely honed his own vocal abilities to create intricate melodies. It is easy to see that he is into music for all the right reasons. It has been something he has always been involved in. Aside from having a great set of pipes, he is also a gifted musician who plays the oboe and the French horn, which earned him a full scholarship to Bethune-Cookman University to play in the marching band. The multitalented Mr. Rose also writes his own music and makes his own beats.

“I’m very humble and I always work very hard at trying to make future accomplishments better than my last,” he says. “I always try to think outside the box from other artists, so that I can stand out and be different musically. These things have helped me create a small fan base, and with faith and hope, I am certain that the base will grow, so that more people can hear what I want to share to the world.”

There is no question that this Atlanta native knows exactly what he wants to do and where he wants to go with his music. This includes singing on his own projects and collaborating with other artists, but also being an encouraging voice for upcoming musicians. All we know right now is that he has gotten to this point because of his hard work and the people’s vote. You can’t deny what people like.
