Chicago
Dope Fantasy was launched in June of 2012 the group came together after years of hanging out and free styling with each other. Feeling the need to fill a void in the Chicago music scene the guys of Dope Fantasy came together to form a group. Dope Fantasy is a diverse group from the south side of Chicago and each member of the group brings a unique and dynamic energy to the group and is extremely talented artist. For these guys there is no such thing as boundaries. They cover any and every subject and bring a different feel to each song. The members of Dope Fantasy all come from varying artistic backgrounds. Jay-R (John Robinson) was raised on the Southside of Chicago where his early love for music and performance began. Jay-R the eldest of two had a diverse musical up bringing being surrounded by everything from Gospel and Soul to 80s pop and Rock. During his high school years JayR grew into his own, shortly after beginning high school a close friend of his was murdered during a home invasion, this taught Jay-R to be more appreciative of life and to find a purpose. Around JayR’s senior year he began to rap with one of his eldest cousins, they would later go on to form the group Dope Fantasy in 2012 L’s (Larry Parker) was raised on the South side but moved to the East Side during his sophomore year of high school where he got deeply involved in the Chicago poetry and spoken word scene performing at various open mic shows. As he grew as a poet he began to branch out beyond doing spoken word and began to experiment with Hip Hop by freestyle rapping in the lunchroom and throughout the hallways of his high school where he would meet one of his future group mates. Careera Kool (Julian Williams) got his start at a grammar school talent show. The feeling of his peers cheering for him on stage was irreplaceable. Listening to Tupac, bone thugs, and biggie at the age of 5 was a big influence including his older brother who rapped. In high school free styling and battle rapping in hallways and during lunchtime became a hobby he enjoyed. Feeling that majority of today's rap and rappers and have lost so much meaning and passion he decided to take this hobby a bit more serious. This is a very small part of how he got his start.

They say you got to have a lot of heart and a strong one at that to make it in this industry. Drey Skonie (Lewis Andrew Jackson Jr.) was born and raised in the original birthplace of the famous Motown sound, Detroit Michigan with all the heart necessary and wears the city’s influence with pride. Drey’s natural musical abilities were evident at the early age of 6. Surrounded by a musical church environment, his first love was the drum, but his hands couldn’t resist the ebony and ivory keys, and he couldn’t keep quiet about his love so he had to sing. As a fully fledged musical talent in the making Drey Skonie possesses nothing but passion for his craft. The world got a glimpse with his global introduction on the first season of MTV’s “Making the Band 4” and he continues to add shine to his first love, music. Following his MTV appearance Drey Skonie continued the hard work joining his talents with Chicago’s own Kwiet Storm. Kwiet Storm was prolific and quickly developed a substantial local Chi-town following. K Storm managed to release numerous radio singles, music videos, and sold an estimated 8,000 copies of their self produced EP. The quartet’s dedication to the hustle was far beyond amazing, selling almost every copy of the CD out of the trunk of their car and tour van. 2010 brought with it changes and time to reflect. Drey appreciated the blood sweat and tears shared with his fellow group members but realized being a part of the group, wasn’t where his heart was at and struck out on his own. Through all of the years of trials and tribulations, Drey remains determined and passionate about his dream of singing on the world’s grand stage. Drey has remained versatile in his image and vocal abilities transcending and cutting across the limits of the R&B/Pop genre using a varied musical palette to create an aural masterpiece. His ability to play both piano and guitar allow him to further expand into nearly every significant genre of music. As a solo artist Drey Skonie is expanding on his experiences and pushing himself to the limit using all the tools gained; his mind, heart, and soul to infuse the music he creates with emotion and impact. Drey Skonie is far more than a full package , as a Singer, Songwriter, Drummer , Pianist, Dancer and self taught guitarist he has teamed up with the Detroit’s notable production team No Speakerz to add a little polish to his first solo effort. Drey is determined to spread the full measure of his heart through his voice and instruments with the stated goal of differentiating his dream and passion from the white noise and static. Drey Skonie’s musical flexibility has attracted and entertained a wide range of audiences and he fully understands that a pure musician should never limit his gift to a single genre. Be on the lookout and follow Drey Skonie the sensation as he “Flyyy’s” to the top in his solo career, and get “Skonie High” off his music… Today Drey Skonie is currently pushing to expand his boundaries so that you “THE WORLD” will know his name. Jay Beretta
Hip Hop
Detroit
Growing up in Detroit, Jay Beretta is no stranger to life on either side of the now world-famous, economically and racially segregating 8 Mile Road. Born, raised and still residing on West 7 Mile Road, he managed to receive a suburban education. Armed with street knowledge that is an indispensable attribute in Detroit and a formal education that is coveted throughout the world, Jay Beretta has acquired wisdom beyond his years. His diverse background has allowed him to become the budding creative genius, Jay Beretta. Setting himself apart from his peers, he exudes the persona of a businessman, precisely expressing that he is Ready. Some may automatically associate violence and danger with the pulsing emcee due to his origin, however his mission and lyrics promote the opposite of what his name implies. The metaphor behind the name exemplifies the man behind bars not literally but verbally. Metaphorically speaking, he is the man behind his words and lyrics. His lyrics contain excruciating consequences when free styling but the credible emcee can express any emotion with the same firebomb style. All in all, there's no harm to anyone but the emcee's paper with his pencil as his number one weapon. His brand promotes HOW he expresses not WHAT he expresses, while his music leaves a mind-full splatter, and his words create a thoughtful impact. Beretta's lyrical stamina was founded at the tender age of eight years old. He discovered that he had a talent for rapping while playing "pass the mic" with an older group of friends. They refused to let him play, but, when the mic was dropped in front of young Jay, passing it was not an option. The rest is 'history'. He fired his first round of freestyles and has been a lyrical sharp shooter ever since. Beretta began to display his passion for music early on. By the age of 14, Jay Beretta had an arsenal of lyrics, which contained over 300 unrecorded songs in his spiral notebook. After Beretta progressed to the studio, he found a new home to store what the world will soon know to be as classics. Now, at the young age of twenty, he has already been compared to the likes of Nas, Jay-Z, and Lil' Wayne. When asked about being compared to these rappers he says, "Who wouldn't feel honored to be compared to some of the greatest rappers alive? I am heavily influenced by the longevity and successful careers of artists like Weezy, Jigga and Nas. But, my style is my own." Beretta has managed to work alongside major industry producers, Boi 1da, DJ Toomp, Rico Law, and does not plan to stop there. When asked about his future endeavors, Jay Beretta responded, "I've rocked the North, I've rocked the South, the East Coast and the West Coast. Now, I'm ready to rock the world. Enough of these nightclubs, I'm ready for the Garden." Jay Beretta has worked with producers around the country and hopes to one day work with D.J. Quik, Kanye West, 9th Wonder, Jermaine Dupri, just to name a few. On working with producers he says, "The people that I'm working with now (Write Time Music and NOSPEAKERZ) fit me perfectly. My music is already creating a buzz. But there are so many talented producers out there, I want an opportunity to work with everybody." Jay Beretta feels that he is the perfect accessory to any producer who can aggrandize his already remarkable talent. Currently, the emcee is working on his 2012 release of his EP meanwhile dropping mix songs of his favorite industry beats. With his powerful stage presence, he leaves his audience satisfied, yet wanting more while demanding their attention all in one. Beretta's passion for music, determination to succeed, and outstanding support system drives him to continuous progression. His recent work 'Life Behind Bars, A Rough Road to the Stars, Countdown to Take Off mixtape were extreme buzz builders for the emcee landing him gigs all throughout Detroit as well as Chicago and Indiana while touring with platinum recording artist Obie Trice. 17 Shots, marked a strong start, Jay notes this as a "learning experience." The "17 Shots" were heard and the one-man army gained a following and a team. Today, Jay Beretta is working with Upper Echelon Management an artist management firm based out of Birmingham, MI, and many more to help advance the Jay Beretta movement.
Jay Moses
Hip Hop
Champaign, IL
Detroit, MI born, Champaign, IL raised rapper Jay Walker, also known as Jay Moses, has been perfecting his craft since 1998 at the ripe young age of 8. His first inspiration musically was Jay-Z’s Vol. 2: Hard Knock Life, since then his flow, cadence, word play, content, and rhyme scheme has been largely based on East Coast Rap/Hip-Hop. It wasn’t until his sophomore year of high school at the age of 16 that Jay decided he wanted to take music seriously as a career option though. It took the recognition of his peers to convince him to pursue this new path seriously. Thus, he began his new training regimen. Every morning after he woke up, he would lie in his bed and freestyle 16 bars before he would get himself ready to start the day. “That was the routine to me. I didn’t want to be the best, but I for damn sure was gonna be nice at what I did,” Jay says. In 2007, Walker adopted the surname Moses for his stage persona, becoming known as Jay Moses. At this point in his life, Walker felt that Hip-Hop was in a state of disarray and needed someone like Moses, who “walked by faith and led his followers, brothers and sisters to freedom.” The Moses portion of his name became a symbol of what he hopes to do as not only an artist, but as a person in Hip-Hop. Jay Moses is the true definition of an MC. One who moves his crowds, the controller of the mic, the master of ceremonies. As he would put it “Jay is who I am, Moses is who I strive to be. And there you have it, Jay Moses.” Jay Moses is extremely versatile and has been labeled everything from conscious to mainstream. As an up and comer Jay has taken advantage of several opportunities given to him. Jay Mos' has been featured on blogs all around the country, such as: SmilePolitely FlyingMyKite FakeShoreDrive CampuSounds RandomActsOfFlyness GidiCulture The9Elements IllCity and more.. O'hene Sávant
Hip Hop
Atlanta
O’hene Savànt, born to a father he never knew and a drug addicted mother, had his childhood start off all too similar to many North Philadelphia youth. However, as his mother’s life began to spiral out of control, his uncle, who married a Ghanaian and relocated to Accra, intervened and brought the adolescent Ohene to Africa. There, he spent his formative years under the loving and watchful eye of his judge aunt and orchestra pianist uncle. Though Ohene played soccer and did other things typical of preteens, he spent the majority of his after school hours at his uncle’s side in front the piano: hours mastering scores of classical and gospel music, the only two genres his uncle allowed in the house. Unbeknownst to his uncle, Ohene discovered and fell in love with the music that captured his generation back home in America: hip-hop. He began to teach himself hip-hop cords on the piano. Unaware of sampling or synthesizing, now teenage Ohene just assumed hip-hop productions were done with live instruments. He also began writing his own raps. He soon caught the attention of some pretty big names in the “Hip-Life” (Ghanaian hip-hop) movement, and was invited to produce a few commercially successful records and share the stage at Accra’s annual music festival. This is where he earned the name “Ohene,” which loosely translates into “chief by divine ordination.” Upon graduating Ghana’s equivalent of high school, he secured his aunt and uncle’s permission to return to Philadelphia, where he was determine to pursue a career in hip-hop. With no money or connections in the music industry, he took a job a Center City clothing store where he would often entertain the customers with freestyle raps. Soon the pattern that garnered him success in Ghana began to repeat itself in America. His name was passed around and doors of opportunity began to fly open. First he was invited to teach a class on hip-hop at Temple University. There he met now business partner and University of Pennsylvania Law School graduate Giovanni Turner. The two launched RAHM Nation Recordings, LLC (later Soul Model Recordings, LLC now O’hene Savànt Multimedia) and released his first two albums, The Rapademics (a companion album to the course he was teaching) and Inner City Soul (which showcased for the first time his unique ability to incorporate soul and classical cords into hip-hop productions). He also met Preston, a man of whose skills set Ohene was never quite sure, but he would share stories of working with Michael Jackson, Rita Marley, Kenny Gamble, and many others. Ohene was appreciative but pessimistic about Preston’s promises to get him his big break. Eventually, Preston made good on his promise and secured Ohene audiences with Rita Marley, Kenny Gamble, and finally James Mtume who was so impressed he agreed to lend expertise and guidance to Ohene’s next project. While the relationship was being solidified, Ohene released two more solo albums, the instrumental Without Words and the dedication Nina Simone by … Ohene. As the two attempted to bridge the generational gap, Mtume had been assiduously securing numerous jazz greats (Sonny Rollins, TS Monk, Dexter Wansel) to collaborate with Ohene. The more the two worked together, Mtume’s experiences with Miles Davis began to have a stronger and stronger influence on Ohene. One day Ohene came to Mtume with a track entitled “Ohenious Monk,” blending elements of jazz and hip-hop in a way that had never been done before. The two realized this was distinctly different from hip-hop jazz fusion, made popular by the likes of Guru, The Brand New Heavies, and The Roots. They had in fact created something that deserved its own category. Ohene called it “HipBop.” Testing the waters with a more subtle version of HipBop, Ohene released I Am Ohene in 2011. This album includes time signatures that seamlessly oscillate between 4:4, 3:4, 6:8, and 5:4 as well as melodic background vocals, both all but unheard of in hip-hop. In addition, the production was created with all live and synthesized instruments played from beginning to end without the aid of loops or samples, creating a feel closer to a live performance, and containing four distinct movements as the track migrates from introduction to verse to chorus to bridge (also atypical in hip-hop). In 2012, two more EPs followed, The Unknown and iLLUMINATED. Having never been signed to any of the big three record companies, through sheer grassroots marketing, O’hene Savànt now has a significant international fan base which includes people of all walks of life from university professor Dr. Cornel West to poet laureate Nikki Giovanni to fellow musicians Mary Mary, Christopher “Play” Martin, DJ Premier, Big Daddy Kane, and Jeff Majors. The future now holds much more promise than anyone could have ever imagined at his humble beginnings.

2010 was a year that rocketed Iiris into the spotlight. After the showcase festival „Tallinn Music Week“, Iiris got people talking. "Especially good performance and great songwriting", said Dietmar Schwenger of MusikWoche. Invitations from festivals like Popkomm (Germany), Musiikki & Media (Finland), The Great Escape (UK), Positivus (Latvia) and Iceland Airwaves (Iceland) followed soon. At the beginning of 2011 Iiris became the artist of the week on MTV Iggy’s blog - "A depressingly few amount of bands have “it.” In fact, I’m pretty sure I didn’t know what “it” was, until I listened to Estonian singer/songwriter/pianist Iiris. Because whatever “it” is, she definitely has it. Iiris has the eclecticism, the smarts, the innovation, the pop sound, not to mention the adorable/pretty image to become a huge mega mega, mega star." Iiris is an artist who is born to be on stage. Wherever she`s been, wherever she`s performed, audience has been left in awe: "What time is it? Did I miss the first bands playing tonight? Iiris is owning the stage like a headlining act." (The Reykjavik Grapevine) "Iiris is in search of strange soundscapes and alt-rock with delicately bold vocals, and it works." (NME blog) "The band's intense energy and interdynamics, as well as Iiris's (lead vocals) bubbly personality and control of the stage set an extraordinary tone for the rest of the evening." (Nutflicks) "Iiris was out of this world. She was full of confidence and sparked the joy of being onstage. (Soundi) Iiris has been compared to many of the greats - Björk, Kate Bush, Regina Spektor and even Florence & The Machine, but she`s always managed to remain original and unique. Her vocals sound hypnotic and fairy-like, she can be commanding and agressive, but when she sits down behind her piano and bares it all - you cannot help but to surrender to this Estonian girl`s talent & beauty. Uniquely assembled, three masterminds by the names of Brian “BeeLee” Lee, Kyle “iRock” Adams, and Jerrell “Fame” Latimer all form a trio production enterprise by the name of NoSpeakerz. NoSpeakerz came about in April of 2010 when a mutual connect of the group brought the three together in a studio for a formal introduction. Many months prior to the formation of the group, the city of Detroit upheld much admiration and respect for each individual producer that ultimately brought them together. Hailing from Detroit Michigan, NoSpeakerz have gained a substantial amount of buzz in a short amount of time through powerful endeavors and strategic decision-making. Producers such as J.Dilla, Just Blaze, Eminem, Kanye West, Pharell, and Dr. Dre influence the expressive theoretical styling’s of the group which not only challenges the trio’s creative abilities but incorporate a variety of culture and soul into their work. As 2010 Red Bull Big Tune runner ups, NoSpeakerz have gained a nationwide fan base as well as a major jumpstart to their career. As a result of the competition many opportunities have been provided for the producers. In late 2010, the producers linked up with former Shady/Interscope Records recording artist Obie Trice with the hit “Anymore.” After grasping an instant Internet buzz with the song, Obie Trice decided to continue working with the producers for his upcoming album “Bottom’s Up.” Currently NOSPEAKERZ have been collaborating with upcoming artists such as R&B singer Drey Skonie, hip hop artists P8tience, Jay Beretta, and recently linked up with Big Sean, LEP Bogus Boys, and Obie Trice for upcoming 2011 projects. The amount of talent contained within the group is far beyond remarkable. They embody the inner ears of musical pioneers with the skill of an entire record label. “NOSPEAKERZ” is not just a name it is a theory. When you interpret their art, it is not about what you hear, but solely the feeling that you get when it permeates your mind, your body, and your soul. “We are passionate about the masterpieces that are the result of our works and we are ready for the NOSPEAKERZ brand to fulfill the purpose of its meaning.” -NOSPEAKERZ

Klassik
Hip Hop
Milwaukee, WI
Klassik is truly an old soul. His fusion of Hip-Hop and Jazz, amongst many other genres, pays homage to the many legends of generations past. His music is not based around braggadocio or glorification of the world’s ills, but rather portrays a positive, forward thinking person, fueled by his inspiration to constantly create and innovate. His diverse influences including Stevie Wonder, John Coltrane, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, and Steely Dan, have helped mold a blend of musical styles that comes out one hundred percent unique, fresh, and timeless. Klassik was born and raised in the blue-collar Midwestern city of Milwaukee, WI. First encouraged to pick up the saxophone by his late father, Robin Abston, he was mentored from an early age by local jazz saxophone legend Berkley Fudge. By the time he was in high school, he was already touring Europe with a group of his peers and professional musicians. His evolution to a recording artist began during this time, as he experimented with the music production software program, Fruity Loops, on his home PC after school. This hobby transformed into a full blown obsession. After one year of studying English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison while on a scholarship, Klassik decided to leave school in order to pursue a career as a professional musician. He could no longer foresee himself doing anything but music for the rest of his life. Klassik's evolution to a professional musician culminated with the release of his first full length album in fall 2012 titled "In The Making". The album garnered national attention and charted on the College Music Journal’s Hip-Hop top 40 for 8 straight weeks following its release. Throughout 2012, Klassik established himself as a premier artist by supplementing “In The Making” with releases of hit singles “That Life” and "Anything", along with featuring or producing in several other Milwaukee artists’ projects. His hard work began to pay off, as he was named "Solo Artist of the Year" 2012 during the 88.9 Radio Milwaukee Music Awards and Milwaukee Magazine named “Anything” as the “Catchiest Song of the Year”. Klassik's new school take on old school styles helps bring listeners to a beautiful place where they can forget about the auto-tuned pop radio production of today and embrace a musical experience that is as lively and melodious as the music of legends past. Vowing to make his biggest influence, his deceased father Robin, honored and proud, Klassik shows no signs of slowing down on his quest to create truly everlasting and inspirational musical works.
